Deep Purple<\/a>\u00a0have announced their new album \u2018Splat!\u2019,\u00a0with a world tour to follow later in the\u00a0year.<\/p>\n

The legendary rock band, led by Ian Gillan, will release their 24th\u00a0studio record, and their follow-up to 2024\u2019s \u2018=1<\/a>\u2019, on\u00a0July 3 via\u00a0earMUSIC, and you can pre-order\/pre-save your copy\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Splat!\u2019 sees Deep Purple reuniting with the celebrated producer Bob Ezrin (KISS<\/a>, Pink Floyd<\/a>, Lou Reed<\/a>), and it has been described as one of the group\u2019s heaviest albums in several years, with the tracks having been laid down live in the studio.<\/p>\n

Gillan has said:\u00a0\u201cWhere we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very \u2018now\u2019 version of Deep Purple as it was in the seventies.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Last year,\u00a0Gillan revealed he was losing his eyesight and said that retirement was \u201cnot far off\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0one of those things.\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0only got\u00a030\u00a0per cent vision,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0get better. It makes life mysterious. The hardest thing is working on my laptop. I\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0see anything on the screen unless I use my peripheral vision \u2013 I pick up a line by looking at it sideways. But you find a way. You adapt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
