\n\tMikey O\u2019Connell, longtime writer and editor at The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, has been promoted to senior entertainment editor, THR<\/em> editor-in-chief Maer Roshan announced on Monday.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cMikey is one of those rare editors who can do everything \u2014 break news, land a profile, build a franchise\u2014 and he does it all with depth, wit and style,\u201d says Roshan. \u201cHe\u2019s played a central role in shaping THR<\/em>\u2019s TV coverage for over a decade, and I\u2019m excited to see what he does with an even bigger canvas.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThroughout his tenure at the magazine, O\u2019Connell has covered the entertainment industry and profiled the likes of Tina Fey, Steve Martin, Teyana Taylor, Lana Del Rey and Conan O\u2019Brien. Overseeing such flagship editorial initiatives as the Women in Entertainment Power 100 and the annual survey of the most influential writer-producers in television, O\u2019Connell is also part of the team moderating, producing and booking THR<\/em>\u2019s Emmy-nominated roundtables. In November, he launched the weekly podcast I\u2019m Having an Episode<\/a><\/em>, which blends lighthearted industry commentary with in-depth interviews.
