The Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas will welcome Grand Ole Opry member and Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Performing Arts Center in New Philadelphia.<\/p>\n McBryde will bring her Into The Wild Tour to New Philadelphia following the release of her fifth studio album, \u201cWild.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis record, in so many ways, began on the road,\u201d McBryde said. \u201cWild is a collection of songs I\u2019ve refused to let go quiet, that have been around for a decade. As well as some brand spanking new songs that were clawing at my guts to get out \u2026 and some songs that were running breathlessly into the dark because they knew if they could just get to me, they\u2019d be safe and they\u2019d be heard. This tour breathes life and light to all of them; it brings them to you.\u201d<\/p>\n McBryde said she is grateful for a life of music, miles, stories and songs.<\/p>\n \u201cI am so grateful that my life purpose is to make sure the songs don\u2019t go unheard. We\u2019ll see you out there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Her new album, \u201cWild,\u201d features 11 tracks and follows a narrative leading up to the moment before she quit drinking. The Arkansas artist explores her experiences growing up in the Ozarks, her fundamentalist upbringing, struggles with drinking and the reckoning that led to sobriety.<\/p>\n McBryde\u2019s 2020 album, \u201cNever Will,\u201d earned Country Album of the Year nominations from the ACM, CMA and Grammy awards in the same awards season. She also is a CMA International Artist Achievement Award winner and recipient of an honorary doctorate in music from Arkansas State University.<\/p>\n Tickets start at $20 and go on sale Friday, May 15, at the Performing Arts Center box office, online at kent.edu\/tuscpac or by calling 330-308-6400.
