The Voice<\/em><\/a> season 30 isn\u2019t even here yet, and the show is already teasing a massive shakeup fans didn\u2019t see coming.<\/p>\n Ever since season 29 wrapped up<\/a> back in April, viewers have been anxious about which music superstars will be the coaches for The Voice<\/em> season 30. With Adam Levine<\/strong><\/a> and Kelly Clarkson<\/strong><\/a> already confirmed to return to the NBC series another season, that left at least one red chair empty\u2026until now.<\/p>\n In an unexpected twist revealed on Instagram<\/a> on May 10, folks learned that country music sensation Riley Green<\/strong> would be stepping in as a coach. And if that\u2019s not enough, he had to share his thoughts about it with his own reaction to the announcement.<\/p>\n \u201cGuess y\u2019all can start calling me coach,\u201d he wrote in the caption. \u201cSee ya this fall. @nbcthevoice #thevoice.\u201d<\/p>\n When fans realized Riley would be joining The Voice<\/em> family in this manner, they all couldn\u2019t believe it.<\/p>\n \u201cWelp, looks like I\u2019ll be watching the Voice again after several years! \ud83d\udd25,\u201d one person wrote in the caption. \u201cI can\u2019t sing but YUP I\u2019m auditioning! That\u2019s it!!!!\u201d another exclaimed. \u201cNever watched The Voice, but I will now. \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude02,\u201d a different follower added.<\/p>\n Well, this is certainly something we didn\u2019t see coming! And for those unfamiliar with Riley, he released EPs in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 before releasing his debut album, Different \u2018Round Here<\/em><\/a>, in September 2019. He\u2019s since released two more records, had a guest stint<\/a> on the CBS series Marshals<\/em>, and he won multiple ACM<\/a> and CMA Awards<\/a> in 2025.<\/p>\n With Riley bringing a fresh perspective to the coaching realm of The Voice<\/em>, it only makes sense that Kelly would have some words for her fellow competitor for season 30!<\/p>\n \u201cRiley Green! This is Kelly Clarkson,\u201d she stated in a voicemail to Riley that was captured on video for Instagram<\/a> on May 10. \u201cThat is officially the last time we\u2019re gonna use each other\u2019s full names, \u2018cause we\u2019re not tools. We have never officially met, so I am super stoked to coach alongside you. Welcome to The Voice.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI was stoked when I heard you were gonna be a coach, because I actually am a super fan of your music, man,\u201d she added. \u201cYou\u2019re so good. You probably know that because I\u2019ve covered your songs. Anyway, big fan.
