Anthrax will release their first new song in ten years this Friday, May 15th. The track, titled \u201cIt\u2019s For The Kids\u201d will be the lead single from the band\u2019s long-awaited new album, Cursum Perficio, tentatively due September 18th via Megaforce Records.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been more than a decade\u2026 but we\u2019re back,\u201d they teased today on social media, while including a link to pre-save the track here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Benante told BraveWords in March: \u201cThere was a whole idea going around about, all the four bands, the Big 4 bands, kind of getting to the point where, \u2018Wow, this may be the time that this could be the last record\u2019. And I was watching this Marilyn Monroe documentary. She has this plaque in her house, which said, \u2018Cursum Perficio\u2019 which means \u2018My journey has come to an end\u2019 or \u2018My journey is over\u2019. And we were talking, and \u2018What about this?\u2019. Anthrax \u2013 guitarist Scott Ian, drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello, singer Joey Belladonna and guitarist Jon Donais \u2013 recently completed a cross Canada tour with Megadeth and Exodus, and are currently criss-crossing the globe until September when they hook up with Iron Maiden on their Run For Your Lives world tour. Cursum Perficio is the thrash titans\u2019 first album since 2016\u2019s For All Kings \u2013 produced by Jay Ruston and finished in November \u2013 had been delayed with Anthrax signing with IAG (\u201cfull-service talent representation and brand management\u201d), the company that represents Pantera.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
