Former star of reality TV show The Hills, Spencer Pratt<\/u><\/a>, is running to become the mayor of Los Angeles<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite having no prior political experience, Pratt, has decided to throw his hat in the ring and believes he can \u201cshake up city hall\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pratt first made a name for himself as the reality TV villain and love interest of Heidi Montag <\/u><\/a>(who he has been married to for 17 years) in the hit MTV series The Hills, which ran from 2006 to 2010.<\/p>\n

According to CBS News<\/u><\/a>, Pratt is now polling second in the race to become mayor and says losing his home in the Palisades Fire was the catalyst towards him running.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to step up so that my sons one day can … come back here and live in the L.A. that I lived in \u2014 beautiful, safe,\u201d he said in an interview with the broadcaster. \u201cI\u2019m standing in what happened because of failed politicians.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an appearance on The All-In Podcast, Pratt revealed more about his plans should he be elected.<\/p>\n

Pratt has stated one of his goals is to clean up the streets of Los Angeles, which he says will happen when \u201cyou start putting handcuffs on people\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I\u2019m mayor, my plan is: first three weeks, signs up across the city \u2013 \u2018No more nakedness, no more drug use, no more robbing \u2026 no more dog abuse\u2019. \u2026 We\u2019re going to go around, we\u2019re going to warn everybody \u2013 \u2018Hey, you\u2019ve got three more weeks of this. Like, clock\u2019s ticking\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThen once we start enforcing laws, boom, streets will be back. Do you know who else I\u2019m going to bring in? The CDC, because there\u2019s medieval diseases in these encampments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not swabbing these encampments. They\u2019re not swabbing the streets. People are just living in faeces and drug use and dogs burning … We need these streets cleaned.\u201d<\/p>\n

On X\/Twitter, people had mixed feelings about him running.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpencer Pratt being mad that his house burned down doesn\u2019t qualify him to be mayor,\u201d someone argued.<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u201cPlease pray that Los Angeles does the right thing in electing Spencer Pratt.\u201d<\/p>\n
