Sebastian Stan<\/strong><\/a> is breaking his silence on becoming a father for the first time.<\/p>\n

News broke in April that Stan\u2019s girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis<\/strong><\/a>, is pregnant with the couple\u2019s first child after the Mercy<\/em> actress was spotted with a growing baby bump in New York City.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Deadline<\/a> published on Monday, May 11, to promote his new movie, Fjord<\/em>, Stan, 43, opened up about his latest role as a first-time dad, which resonates with the plot of the new drama. In the film, Sebastian\u2019s character, Mihai Gheorghiu, must reckon with his own obligations as a father as he and his wife (played by Renate Reinsve<\/strong>) face scrutiny over their parenting skills among their small-town neighbors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be a good dad,\u201d the Thunderbolts<\/em><\/a> actor told Deadline.<\/p>\n

Later in the interview, Stan added, \u201cI\u2019m feeling the responsibility of being a good father. And not to mention a good man. I\u2019m 43 and I feel, in a lot of ways, I\u2019m just starting to learn now. It\u2019s just crazy to me. So, I love when I see I\u2019m discovering different people\u2019s point of view. I try to read as much as I can, no matter what the point of view is, just to understand it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stan said he\u2019s also been contemplating what it means to be a man more than ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny, in the last couple years, I\u2019ve started to identify sometimes being a man with just holding a plank for a very long, long time,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause I think it is about tolerance,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd I think that\u2019s something that we\u2019re not teaching young men. We\u2019re not teaching them how to tolerate discomfort, how to understand their own emotions, their own anger, their own frustrations. Nobody\u2019s educating them on how to embrace depression, or being sad, feeling things, being weak, crying.\u201d<\/p>\n
