Billy Bob Thornton and Howie Mandel talked about Hollywood stars weighing in on politics on the May 5 episode of Mandel’s podcast, Howie Mandel Does Stuff<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n “I don’t know anything about politics,” the Landman<\/em> star said<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Instead, he shared what he thinks is a “way more important” opinion for actors to be sharing with their audiences<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Billy Bob Thornton<\/a> will not be sharing his political views anytime soon.<\/p>\n On the May 5 episode of Howie Mandel<\/a>‘s podcast, Howie Mandel Does Stuff<\/em><\/a>, Thornton and the America’s Got Talent<\/em> judge spoke about how they use their platforms as public figures, and when the topic of politics came up, they were on the same page.<\/p>\n “What we are experts in, just like the person that’s listening, is being human. So if you could be open and share who you are, how you feel, how you cope, that’s definitely going to do something,” Mandel, 70, said.<\/p>\n “That, I think, to me, is way more important than an actor or actress or musician telling people, like you said, who to vote for,” Thornton said. “Because, it’s like, I mean, some guy’s on the fence, and it’s like, well, ‘Dash Rip Rock said it on the Golden Globes, so I’m voting for….'”<\/p>\n Billy Bob Thornton on “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for<\/strong> PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/strong><\/a> to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n “I mean, I don’t know anything about politics,” Thornton, 70, admitted. “I have no idea.”<\/p>\n “And the stuff that I believe about it, I don\u2019t want to force it down somebody else\u2019s throat because I\u2019m not an expert on that,” he added.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the podcast, the Landman<\/em><\/a> star opened up about his extremely “restricted” diet, and the underlying health condition that demands it<\/a>. \u201cWell, I’m allergic to wheat, dairy. I have type AB-negative blood, which is the rarest type in the world. It’s, like, less than 1% of the population of the world has it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n While he \u201cate everything” when he was younger, he said he has “a lot of allergies,” but he didn’t start changing his habits until later in life.<\/p>\n \u201cI just assumed everybody felt like s— after they ate. I didn’t know,\u201d he said. \u201cBut anyway, I can’t have dairy, wheat \u2026 can’t eat meat, like, you know, pork or beef or any of that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
