I had a crush on Matt Damon. Like, who doesn\u2019t?\u201d<\/p>\n During filming, Damon casually asked what she had been working on lately, prompting Peet to mention the play.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018What have you been up to?\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Nothing. I just \u2014 I just \u2014 I\u2019m in a play at The Public.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cAnd he\u2019s like, \u2018Oh my god, that\u2019s right next door to my house. I\u2019ll come.’ “<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Oh, wait. But don\u2019t come. If you\u2019re going to come, don\u2019t tell me when you\u2019re coming because I can\u2019t know when people come,\u2019 \u201d she recounted. \u201cIt\u2019s really a very serious thing. I can never know.\u201d<\/p>\n Peet said she then made Damon promise not to warn her in advance if he planned to attend.<\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018Promise me, because it\u2019s not funny,\u2019 \u201d she said. “And he was like, \u2018No, no, no, no. I get it. I mean, I\u2019m an actor. I get it.’ “<\/p>\n But a few days later, things took a turn.<\/p>\n \u201cCouple days later, I\u2019m in my dressing room,\u201d Peet said. \u201cI get 10 minutes to curtain, open the door, someone hands me an envelope.\u201d<\/p>\n
