Get ready, “Love Island” fans! Another season of “Love Island USA” is coming soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

And this season, host Ariana Madix isn’t the only famous Floridian fans will see on the show. Viral content creator, red carpet host and pop culture expert Tefi Pessoa will be joining as one of the “Love Island Aftersun” hosts, along with Bravo reality star Ciara Miller.<\/p>\n

Pessoa lives in New York City but is proudly from Florida, and often talks about her childhood in Miami on her social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Here’s when the eighth season of “Love Island USA” premieres, what to know about Floridian hosts Ariana Madix and Tefi Pessoa and how to watch the show.<\/p>\n

How does ‘Love Island’ work?<\/h2>\n

On \u201cLove Island,\u201d a group of single men and women, called \u201cislanders,\u201d \u201ccouple up\u201d from week to week and live in a big villa together all summer. In the first episode of each season, each of the women in the villa chooses a man to couple up with, based only on a brief first impression.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Each islander sleeps in a bed with the person they\u2019re coupled up with every night, in the same room as the other couples. There\u2019s a massive bedroom with beds lining each wall and surveillance cameras in the bedroom, as well as throughout the villa.<\/p>\n\n

Viewers watch the islanders spend their days lounging by the pool, talking amongst themselves and sometimes participating in challenges that can win them opportunities for alone time with the person they\u2019re coupled up with.<\/p>\n

There are \u201crecoupling\u201d ceremonies in which the men and women take turns choosing to either stay with the person they are coupled up with or choose someone else. Since the initial coupling is up to the women, the men usually get the upper hand in the first recoupling ceremony. Any islanders who are single after the recoupling leave the villa.<\/p>\n

Viewers also get a chance to vote for their favorite and least favorite islanders and couples from week to week, giving them the power to have a say in who\u2019s eliminated from the villa.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

The winner of each season is the couple that gets the most viewer votes as the favorite couple in the villa.<\/p>\n

During the finale, both people in the winning couple are given envelopes. One envelope has the $100,000 prize, and the other is empty. The person who gets the prize money can choose to keep it for themselves or split it with their partner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Who hosts ‘Love Island USA’? Floridian fan-favorite Ariana Madix is back<\/h2>\n

TV personality and host Ariana Madix\u00a0is a Melbourne, Florida, native and Flagler College alumna who’s had the entire reality TV realm in a chokehold over the last few years. She first became the host of “Love Island USA” in 2024 and is now many fans’ favorite part of the show.<\/p>\n

Aside from her\u00a0reality TV work<\/a>\u00a0for Bravo, Ariana Madix has gone on to write books, open restaurants and even compete on\u00a0ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars<\/a>” in 2023. She also appeared on Broadway in the summer of 2024\u00a0as Roxie Hart in the\u00a0“Chicago” musical.<\/a><\/p>\n\n

Madix’s first claim to fame was her appearance on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules.” The spinoff show<\/a>\u00a0follows the lives of people who work at the West Hollywood restaurant SUR, which is owned by Lisa Vanderpump, one of the legendary Bravo reality show stars from \u201cThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Debuting in 2013, “Vanderpump Rules” has 12 seasons under its belt.<\/p>\n

Floridian, content creator Tefi to co-host ‘Love Island Aftersun.’<\/h2>\n

On May 11, Peacock announced that Floridian influencer and red carpet host Tefi Pessoa will co-host “Love Island Aftersun” with “Summer House” star Ciara Miller.<\/p>\n

“It’s official: Maura Higgins is stepping down from her weekly ‘Love Island Aftersun’ talk show hosting duties once ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 kicks off this summer,” Peacock said in a May 11 blog post.<\/a><\/p>\n

“While longtime fans will be sad to see 35-year-old Irish stunner and ‘The Traitors’ star exit her post, the entertainment world is equally giddy about the two stars who will take over for her: Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa!”<\/p>\n\n

“Love Island Aftersun” is a companion talk show that airs on Saturdays during the “Love Island” season. “Aftersun” features exclusive interviews with dumped islanders, behind-the-scenes content and sometimes celebrity fans of the show.<\/p>\n

Who is Tefi Pessoa? Why is Tefi Pessoa famous?<\/h2>\n

Tefi Pessoa, 35, is a content creator, TikTok star, podcaster and red carpet host who exploded to internet fame in 2020 after posting a series of pop culture-centered videos, including multiple video series explaining the most talked-about celebrity relationships of the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

Pessoa was born and raised in Miami and often talks about her childhood in Florida in her short-form content on TikTok and Instagram. Over years of posting content, she became known to many fans as their “internet big sister” and now frequently hosts red carpets at various awards shows and ceremonies for outlets like ELLE, The Cut, InStyle and more.<\/p>\n\n

She also has an advice column with The Cut titled “Ask Tefi,” and a podcast with Vox Media titled “Tefi Talks,” in which she talks about pop culture, celebrity news and more.<\/p>\n\n

Known to her fans as @hellotefi<\/a>, Pessoa has a huge following online, with 429,000 Instagram followers and nearly 2 million (1.9 million) followers on TikTok.<\/p>\n

“Call Pessoa a content creator, a TikTok icon, a podcaster, or an internet personality if you like, but we prefer to call her the future co-host of ‘Aftersun.’ The 35-year-old has established herself as one of the premiere voices in social media,” Peacock’s May 11 announcement said.<\/a><\/p>\n
