(NYSE:AMC) to Buy from Hold and set a $2.50 price target. The firm pointed to improving box office trends and stronger spending per moviegoer as key reasons behind the move. According to the analyst, AMC is \u201ctransitioning from a liquidity recovery story to an earnings and cash flow recovery story.\u201d The analyst also noted that stronger attendance and higher pricing could lead to \u201cdisproportionate AEBITDA growth.\u201d Management, they added, has indicated that the level of box office revenue needed for free cash flow breakeven is now much lower than it was before the pandemic.<\/p>\n During the company\u2019s Q1 2026 earnings call, Chairman, President & CEO Adam Aron said AMC delivered its strongest first-quarter adjusted EBITDA result since the pre-pandemic period in 2019. He added that adjusted EBITDA improved by nearly $96 million from the same quarter last year. Aron also said the company improved its liquidity position during the quarter by raising around $72 million in gross proceeds through its at-the-market equity program.<\/p>\n At the same time, Executive VP of International Operations, IT & Procurement, CFO, and Treasurer Sean Goodman said AMC benefited from operating leverage, better per-patron performance metrics, and stronger operating efficiency. He said those factors helped drive a $96 million increase in first-quarter adjusted EBITDA and contributed to a post-pandemic first-quarter adjusted EBITDA record of $38.3 million.<\/p>\n AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc.
