The Princess of Wales is set to arrive in Italy for her first
\noverseas visit since her remission from cancer.<\/p>\n
The Princess will spend two days in Reggio Emilia to find out
\nmore about their famous early years programmes.<\/p>\n
Kate is heading to the northern Italian city to meet experts as
\nwell as parents and children in a packed two day trip.<\/p>\n
Her last official overseas visit was in November 2022 when she
\nheaded to the US with Prince William for that year\u2019s Earthshot
\nPrize. Since then, she has been treated for cancer and announced
\nshe is in remission although her priority remains her recovery.<\/p>\n
The visit to Italy has heightened speculation that another
\noverseas trip, to the US, could be on the cards later this
\nsummer.<\/p>\n
Reggio Emilia is home to a number of world famous early years
\nprogrammes and projects. They include approaches centred on putting
\nrelationships, environment and community at the heart of a child\u2019s
\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n
There is a focus on nurturing and creativity in the early years
\nwhich has won international acclaim.<\/p>\n
Supporting children in the first phase of their lives is a major
\nfocus of the Princess of Wales. This trip is part of work to expand
\nthe Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, established by
\nKate, on an international level.<\/p>\n
The focus of this two day visit is to see how how a shared
\nunderstanding of social and emotional development can link with
\nwork going on around the world.<\/p>\n
Reggio Emilia is also known for its cuisine and for being the
\nbirthplace of several celebrated artists, including the sculptor,
\nCorreggio.<\/p>\n
