U2<\/a> have released footage of the band filming the video for their upcoming single \u2018Street Of Dreams\u2019 in Mexico City \u2013 watch footage above.<\/p>\n The group\u00a0have long been thought to be working in the studio on their 15th\u00a0album<\/a>, and they have released two EPs of\u00a0new music\u00a0already this year<\/a>, but\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/i><\/a> now report that their new album will be released later\u00a0in 2026.<\/p>\n It looks like the lead single will be \u2018Street\u00a0Of\u00a0Dreams\u2019 and now the band have shared footage of the video shoot, with a crowd of\u00a0fans gathered around a bus in Mexico City as the band play the song on the roof.<\/p>\n With the crowd\u00a0clapping and\u00a0punching the air,\u00a0Bono<\/a>\u00a0sings, \u201cLa\u00a0calle,\u00a0calle\u00a0de\u00a0los\u00a0sue\u00f1os\u00a0\/ All the doors are open on the street of dreams<\/i>\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cHopped a bus in Mexico City, destination: Street of Dreams,\u201d the band captioned the footage. \u201cJustice an obsession, love is procession down the street of dreams\u201d.<\/p>\n Watch the clip here:<\/p>\n In a\u00a0subsequent\u00a0post, U2 revealed that heavy rain and thunder \u201ccrashed the generator for the film shoot\u201d,\u00a0and a \u201cbewildered by welcoming\u00a0neighbour\u201d let the band use their balcony to lead the crowd in singalongs of \u2018Vertigo\u2019 and \u2018Desire\u2019 while they waited for the shoot to recommence.<\/p>\n Notably, drummer Larry Mullen Jr. is in the video,\u00a0having missed the band\u2019s Las Vegas Sphere residency in 2023 and 2024\u00a0after undergoing back surgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n This week also sees Mexico City host the 2026 Street Child World Cup, with 30 teams from around the world descending on the city for the tournament, which takes place between May 6 and 14.<\/p>\n U2 support the project, with Mullen saying: \u201cIt\u2019s a little NGO with a big kick for kids with all of the talent and none of the access. Our band are proud supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n U2 released\u00a0the six-song EP \u2018Easter Lily\u2019 on Good Friday (April 3)<\/a>, the\u00a0follow-up to the\u00a0previous\u00a0EP \u2018Days\u00a0Of\u00a0Ash\u2019<\/a>, which was released to coincide with Ash Wednesday.<\/p>\n Bono said at the time that \u2018Easter Lily\u2019 came out:\u00a0\u201cWe are in the studio, still working towards a noisy, messy, \u2018unreasonably colour xerox\u2019 album to play LIVE\u2026 which is where U2 lives.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe still look to vivid rock n roll as an act of resistance against all this awfulness on our small screens. These are for sure \u2018wilderness years\u2019 for so many of us looking at the mayhem out there in the world. It\u2019s a time that has our band digging deeper into our lives to find a wellspring of songs to try to meet the moment\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n The band have been teasing a new album as far back as 2024, when\u00a0The Edge said that it would not be \u201ca straight-up rock thing\u201d<\/a>, while last summer,\u00a0Bono shared that he was \u201cready for the future\u201d with U2, with the band having written \u201c25 great songs<\/a>\u201d. Earlier this year, while discussing the writing process, the\u00a0frontman\u00a0said that\u00a0U2 were overcoming the past to make \u201cthe sound of the future<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n It will be their album\u00a0of\u00a0new music\u00a0since 2017\u2019s \u2018Songs\u00a0Of\u00a0Experience<\/a>\u2019, which\u00a0NME\u00a0<\/i>awarded two stars and noted<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cThere are brief flashes of \u2018Vertigo\u2019 vitality, notably when they bemoan the current political s**tstorms on \u2018The Blackout\u2019.
