These are the warmest months of the year (hopefully), festivals are just around the corner, and there\u2019s still plenty of great new music, so let\u2019s crack on with the latest SNACK Bits.<\/p>\n<p>One thing that\u2019s notable about <strong>F.O. Machete<\/strong> is that they take a bunch of recognisable features and mash them together into something rather unique<strong>.<\/strong> \u2018Sleeper Cell\u2019 continues this trait: a sharp, in every sense, poppy-punk blast that bodes well for the next album, out later this year.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/track=2398869091\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fomachete1.bandcamp.com\/track\/sleeper-cell\">Sleeper Cell by f.o. machete<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The sound effects on \u2018FIZZY!\u2019 by <strong>PINLIGHT<\/strong> will have you heading to the fridge for a soda, but musically, you\u2019re straight to the dance floor. It\u2019s funky, sassy, and yes, it fizzes with electro-pop excitement. The <em>All Things Nice<\/em> album is out on 15th May, and this is a slice of nice right here.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FIZZY!\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jflUPnaV3YY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018Overload\u2019 by <strong>Thaladela<\/strong> is moody and atmospheric. Don\u2019t expect to take it all in on first listen. It\u2019s orderly, and while it has lofty ambitions, it gets there without too much of a struggle. It\u2019s dreamy but grounded, hitting its stride for the chorus with sumptuous lead vocals. The launch gig takes place at McChuills on Wednesday 27th May, so there are midweek plans, if you fancy it?<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/track=433970970\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thaladela.bandcamp.com\/track\/overload\">Overload by Thaladela<\/a><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u2018Can\u2019t Believe I\u2019m Here\u2019 is the title track of <strong>Ample House\u2019<\/strong>s EP, and it has a devilish strut, offsetting the matter-of-fact vocal delivery. Halfway through \u2018The Wind and the Rain\u2019 by <strong>Rufus Case Stone<\/strong>, there\u2019s an underlying guitar passage, less of a riff, more a shift, and it\u2019s easy to stick the song on rotation. There\u2019s a lot going on, including an unexpected time change, but a lot to like.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Wind and the Rain\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Tz5HFei71gY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Adam Ross<\/strong> has an album out in May, and \u2018I Never Thought You Couldn\u2019t Not\u2019 is a lovely introduction to it, recalling classic Dexys. For someone who has been in the business for some time, Adam appears to be making catchier and more enjoyable music the longer he goes on.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Adam Ross - I Never Thought You Couldn&#039;t Not (live at Cambo House)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gOURkmupnYc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If you\u2019re a guitar band from Lanarkshire, history could well weigh heavy on your shoulders. Not that <strong>bogle<\/strong> worry too much about that, and while they trade on the past, they\u2019re not taking that as their only gospel with their new double A-side single. \u2018Lost\u2019 is rockier, in a mid-90s style, while the intro of \u2018Dying Art\u2019 is jangly enough to see them lumped on playlists with their local forebears. This sort of thing never goes out of style, and this is more than pleasant.<\/p>\n<p>We mentioned festivals in our intro, and <strong>The Kaves<\/strong> are ready for outdoor stages with \u2018Somber\u2019. Big choruses, snappy guitar fills, and plenty of drum rolls and moments that reach for the sky. The same goes for Late Night Getaway Drivers, whose \u2018Heard It On The Radio\u2019 is a confident guitar workout, strengthened by female backing vocals. Indie rock hasn\u2019t gone away, you know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flair<\/strong> opted for a big sound on \u2018Ritual\u2019, coming across dark and clean. The circular guitar motif is great, the vocals are strong, and there\u2019s a polished yet menacing feel going on.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ritual Radio Edit\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Nht2bV5CqkQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Tomorrow Woman<\/strong> has an EP called <em>Plays Machines<\/em> available at the start of May, and lead track \u2018Ultrasound\u2019 has our attention. It\u2019s glitchy, it skips, and frankly, it\u2019s pretty darned cool. If you\u2019re looking for solid electro that gets your shoulders dipping, this is worth your time.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tomorrow Woman - Ultrasound (Official Visualizer)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rsvsoEz6G48?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Ellijai<\/strong> is \u2018Stupid Sometimes\u2019 but hey, aren\u2019t we all? There\u2019s plenty of emotion here, and by the end, the song develops a considerable theatrical style, crescendoing to a love letter to rock \u2018n\u2019 roll.
