The Strokes<\/a> have dropped the latest preview of their new album, releasing the tender, slow-burning single \u2018Falling Out Of Love\u2019.<\/p>\n The New York indie icons started teasing new music earlier this year<\/a>, hinting to fans that they would \u201cbe in touch\u201d about a new release, before later confirming new album \u2018Reality Awaits\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last month they announced that the highly anticipated follow-up to 2020\u2019s \u2018The New Abnormal<\/a>\u2019 would be arriving on June 26 (pre-order here<\/a>) and dropped the chic lead single \u2018Going Shopping<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n Today (Wednesday May 13), Julian Casablancas<\/a> and co. have shared another track from the record, the tender \u2018Falling Out Of Love\u2019, which sees them tackle themes of heartbreak and finding comfort in your own company.<\/p>\n Taking on a more stripped-back, romantic feel than \u2018Going Shopping\u2019, the latest single sees the band lean into gentle, swirling guitar riffs and heartfelt vocals. \u201cTook you out to my hometown\/ Where I learned to be alone\/ Riding up the mountainside\/ Where all the world\u2019s here<\/em>,\u201d Casablancas sings.<\/p>\n For the majority of the song, he uses a vocoder to give his voice that same distinctive sound as seen on the hit 2013 Daft Punk<\/a> collab \u2018Instant Crush\u2019 and later tracks like 2020\u2019s \u2018At the Door\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cHiding out for a while\/ Falling out of love for the first time\/ Some things are flawed by design\/ But I\u2019m fine for the first time<\/em>,\u201d he yearns in the tender yet oddly-uplifting chorus. \u201cDancing in acid rain alone with you\/ But I don\u2019t wanna do it anymore\/ I guess I\u2019ll sing alone.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
