A sequel to the 2017 comedy \u201cGirls Trip\u201d is in the works, comedian Tiffany Haddish<\/a> confirmed during a red carpet event over the weekend.<\/p>\n Haddish, 46, shared the news while speaking to Extra<\/a> on the red carpet at Netflix\u2019s \u201cThe Roast of Kevin Hart\u201d event on Sunday, May 10.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Girls Trip\u2019 is happening,\u201d she said while pointing on the carpet to producer Will Packer, whose company helped produce the film.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the boss right there,\u201d Haddish said about Packer. \u201cHe said it.\u201d<\/p>\n The film stars Haddish, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith \u2013 the Flossy Posse \u2013 four longtime friends who have slowly drifted apart due to life\u2019s demands. Yes, it is a big deal. The decision (to set it in Ghana) came from what\u2019s the biggest wow factor? We haven\u2019t really seen a movie like this set on the continent of Africa \u2013 I\u2019m always trying to figure out how to push boundaries.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGirls Trip\u201d was released in July 2017. The film had a $19 million budget<\/a> and grossed just over $115 million while in theaters, per IMDb.\u00a0<\/p>\n Malcolm D. Lee directed the comedy, and Kenya Barris (\u201cBlack-ish\u201d), Oliver (\u201cThe Blackening\u201d) and Erica Rivinoja (\u201cBorat Subsequent Moviefilm\u201d) wrote it.<\/p>\n Throughout the R-rated comedy, the four women laugh, dance and apologize to each other after things go awry.
