He was 71.<\/p>\n Gibb’s talent agent Tina Presley-Borek confirmed the news of his death with PEOPLE on Wednesday, May 13, after TMZ<\/a> and Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> first reported the news of his death on Tuesday, May 12.<\/p>\n “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Gibb \u2014 a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and actor. Donald loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his fans with all his heart,” Gibb’s children said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “Known for his larger-than-life presence on screen and his kindness off screen, he brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to countless people throughout his life and career.”<\/p>\n The statement continued, “Above all else, Donald treasured his faith and the people he loved.
