Deep Purple<\/a> have released the first single from new album \u2018Splat!\u2019 \u2013 check out the propulsive \u2018Arrogant Boy\u2019 below.<\/p>\n

The veteran rock band are preparing to release their 24th\u00a0studio album, and the follow-up to 2024\u2019s \u2018=1<\/a>\u2019, on July 3 via\u00a0earMUSIC. Pre-order\/pre-save the record\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, they have shared the lead single,\u00a0the chunky, supercharged \u2018Arrogant Boy\u2019,\u00a0which sees the band attempt to capture the speed and power of\u00a0their\u00a0early years.<\/p>\n

Frontman\u00a0Ian Gillan has said: \u201cThis is the story of Billy who\u00a0couldn\u2019t\u00a0read or write. He is unhappy with things, so he speaks up, and finds a way of irritating, one way or another, the elite. And I\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0think of anything more fun than irritating the elite. It would be a joyous exercise for me every morning after coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n
