Tove Lo<\/a> is back and she\u2019s getting witchy y\u2019all! \u201cI\u2019m your girl right?\u201d is here and we are so BACK with some exciting new music from one of my fave artists.<\/p>\n The Swedish pop star officially launched her next era this week with the release of the electro-pop track and its cinematic music video, giving listeners their first taste of her upcoming sixth studio album, ESTRUS<\/a><\/em>, due out Sept. 18 via Pretty Swede Records and Virgin Music Group.<\/p>\n Fans can listen to the single HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n If there\u2019s one thing Tove Lo has perfected over the years, it\u2019s turning emotional instability into a dance-floor experience.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m your girl right?\u201d taps into that familiar formula while pushing it somewhere darker and more frantic. The song pulses with glossy synths and restless energy as Tove Lo spirals through insecurity, desire and emotional confusion in real time.<\/p>\n It\u2019s vulnerable, messy and painfully relatable, exactly the kind of emotional whiplash fans have come to expect from the \u201cHabits (Stay High)\u201d singer.<\/p>\n The track serves as the lead single from ESTRUS<\/em>, an album Tove Lo says embraces instinct over logic.<\/p>\n \u201cEstrus is an animal in heat. It\u2019s primal. It\u2019s my mind and my body wanting different things, wanting everything,\u201d she shared in a statement. \u201cThere\u2019s no good advice on this album\u2026 just a lot of feelings, no solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n Honestly, that might be the most accurate description of modern dating anyone\u2019s offered all year.<\/p>\n The song\u2019s official visual leans fully into the unease and intensity of the track.<\/p>\n Directed by Nogari, the video was filmed outside S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, in a former monastery and features more than 70 dancers. The result feels somewhere between a fever dream, underground rave and religious awakening.<\/p>\n The project also marks the second collaboration between Tove Lo and Nogari following 2023\u2019s \u201cBorderline.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking about the release, Tove Lo said: \u201cThe first song and video from my new album ESTRUS are out. I know you\u2019ve been waiting a long time and I hope it\u2019s worth the wait. It was for me!\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cCan\u2019t wait to share the rest of this album with you. We shot this video in Brazil and I think it turned out so stunning. The best crew ever. Thank you with all my heart to Nogari and your whole team, our minds blend so beautifully twisted together.\u201d<\/p>\n While \u201cI\u2019m your girl right?<\/a>\u201d introduces the album\u2019s emotional volatility, ESTRUS<\/em> digs even deeper into the contradictions that have long fueled Tove Lo\u2019s music.<\/p>\n Inspired by Swedish indie-dance artists like Robyn and The Knife, the project was created alongside longtime collaborator Ludvig S\u00f6derberg, as well as producers Elvira Anderfj\u00e4rd and Luka Kloser.<\/p>\n The album will also feature a collaboration with Stromae on the track \u201cdes fleurs x stromae.\u201d<\/p>\n Tove Lo reportedly recorded portions of the album in Los Angeles, Stockholm and a small fishing village in Sweden where she spent summers growing up. Revisiting that environment brought old memories rushing back.<\/p>\n According to the singer, the process forced her to reconnect with experiences tied to depression, breakups, family tension and eating disorder struggles.<\/p>\n Rather than trying to resolve those emotions neatly, ESTRUS<\/em> appears committed to living inside the discomfort.<\/p>\n The album\u2019s tracklist includes titles like \u201ca lot of feelings, no solutions,\u201d \u201cthe bad one,\u201d \u201cdie for my art with a lonely heart\u201d and \u201care we on a break.\u201d<\/p>\n So yes, emotionally devastating club music is officially back on the menu.<\/p>\n Alongside the single release, Tove Lo also announced her upcoming ESTRUS<\/a> Tour, which kicks off Sept. 15 in Nashville before heading through North America, the UK and Europe.<\/p>\n Support for the North American dates will come from Mallrat<\/a>, while Cobrah<\/a> joins the Brooklyn show.
