Jack Taylor<\/strong>, the American born actor whose long career made him a recognizable figure in European horror, has died at 99<\/strong>. The news was confirmed today by the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which noted his decades long connection to Spain and highlighted films including \u201cConan the Barbarian,\u201d \u201cPieces\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cThe Ninth Gate.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

From American Television to European Cult Cinema<\/h2>\n

Born George Brown Randall <\/strong>in Oregon City, Oregon, Taylor began performing as a child before finding small television roles in the United States during the 1950s. Early appearances included parts on shows such as \u201cThe Jack Benny Program\u201d and \u201cSheena, Queen of the Jungle.\u201d His career soon took an international turn when he relocated to Mexico and later Europe,<\/strong> where he gradually became a fixture in genre filmmaking.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s breakthrough arrived through his collaboration with Spanish filmmaker Jes\u00fas Franco<\/strong>, one of the defining figures of European horror cinema.
