Paul McCartney<\/a> is no fan of President Donald Trump<\/a> and the political divide he has wrought, arguing during a recent podcast appearance that music is one of the most \u201cvaluable\u201d reprieves these days from relentless political infighting in \u201cTrump\u2019s America.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Beatles<\/a> member appeared on Wednesday\u2019s podcast episode of \u201cThe Rest Is Entertainment,\u201d and after telling hosts Marina Hyde and Richard Osman that some crowds don\u2019t enjoy the songs he chooses to play, he said his biggest hits still bring people together.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI mean particularly these days, too, you do something like \u2018Hey Jude\u2019 and you see this whole audience singing together,\u201d said McCartney<\/a>. \u201cAnd in Trump\u2019s America \u2014 and the Republicans<\/a> and Democrats<\/a> all at each other\u2019s throats \u2014 when we do that song, they\u2019re not.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The music legend continued, \u201cThey\u2019re all loving it and they\u2019re all, it\u2019s like, \u2018Wow, this is pretty amazing,\u2019 you know? That suddenly this room has forgotten all of that and it\u2019s not, you know, going to argue with each other. We\u2019re all just going to sing together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n McCartney has written some of the most renowned and beloved songs of the 20th century and is one of the last two Beatles alive.
