The Times report this week<\/a> seemed to obliterate Trump\u2019s assertions<\/a> that the U.S. had \u201cdecimated\u201d Iran\u2019s military capabilities and that \u201cnever in the history of warfare has an enemy suffered such a clear and devastating large-scale losses in a matter of weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

U.S. intelligence briefings \u201cbehind closed doors\u201d reveal that Iran has access to most of its missile sites and that 30 of the 33 sites along the Strait of Hormuz are operational, according to the Times. Iran still has 70% of its mobile launchers as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But it was an apparent moment of truth that got Trump shellacked by critics<\/a> before he left for China this week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cNot even a little bit,\u201d the president said. \u201cThe only thing that matters when I\u2019m talking about Iran \u2014 they can\u2019t have a nuclear weapon. I don\u2019t think about Americans\u2019 financial situation. I don\u2019t think about anybody. I think about one thing: We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That\u2019s all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
