Not even 15 years ago, Yellowstone<\/a>creator Taylor Sheridan<\/a><\/strong> and his wife, Nicole Muirbrook<\/strong>, were struggling actors living paycheck-to-paycheck in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the time it was like, \u2018Let\u2019s just make enough to pay a mortgage or rent or food.\u2019 We were literally starving,\u201d Muirbrook told Cowgirl Magazine<\/a> of those early days. \u201cThat\u2019s when Taylor started writing, and two years later, we were at the Oscars<\/a> \u2026 I still can\u2019t believe it.\u201d (Sheridan\u2019s breakout screenplays were Sicario and Hell orHigh Water, which was nominated for Best Screenplay.)<\/p>\n Since then, Sheridan has become the king of Westerns<\/a> and the couple and their son, Gus<\/strong>, live at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Tex., a 600-acre expanse of land that represents the family\u2019s shared love of cowboy culture. While Sheridan is typically private about his personal life, Muirbrook occasionally gives fans a glimpse into their relationship on social media.<\/p>\n For Sheridan\u2019s birthday<\/a> last year, she shared a steamy photo of them kissing with the caption: \u201cHappy Birthday, my love. You\u2019re the words, the pages, the whole damn book \ud83d\udd25\u201d<\/p>\n Muirbrook is a former model and actress who now spends the bulk of her time directing operations at Bosque Ranch, working with horses.<\/p>\n She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was scouted by a modeling agent at a local mall as a teen. She booked small roles in the TV shows Dark Blue and How I Met Your Mother<\/a>, then met Sheridan.<\/p>\n These days, she\u2019s focused on ranching and equestrian sports like reining and cutting. I couldn\u2019t ask for a better husband or father to our son.”<\/p>\n Yes. The pair share a son, Gus, born Sept. 23, 2010. Sheridan has said that starting a family marked a turning point for him professionally as well as personally.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the thing that really changed my perspective on my career was getting married and having a child,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cAnd then, really thinking about how I am going to raise that child. And if that child is going to look up to me, what is he looking up to me for? It made me reflect on my career very deeply.\u201c<\/p>\n Praising Sheridan on Father\u2019s Day 2021, Muirbrook wrote on Instagram, \u201cI\u2019m grateful to be sharing life, love, and parenthood with a wonderful man like you. We love you Baby.\u201d<\/p>\n Sheridan lives with his family at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Tex.<\/p>\n They moved there sometime around 2020, after a period spent in Park City, Utah.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were living in Park City, and Taylor really didn\u2019t like the snow,\u201d Muirbrook explained<\/a>. \u201cSo, he rolled over one morning and said, \u2018Honey, we\u2019re getting the hell out of here,\u2019 and I\u2019m like \u2018Where are we going?\u2019\u00a0 \u2018We\u2019re going to go to Texas,\u2019 he replied.\u201d<\/p>\n It turned out to be a beautiful fit, especially for their young son.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s never on his phone. He\u2019s never on his X-Box,\u201d Muirbrook said. \u201cHe\u2019s always outside with the dogs, fishing with his buds, or roller-skating in the barn. He also ropes, so he\u2019s often on horseback.
