\n\tProducers Nicky Weinstock<\/a> and Andrea Bucko<\/a> have partnered to launch a new production outfit that will be known as Sweetheart Entertainment<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThe company launches at Cannes as both Weinstock and Bucko have films in Competition strands. Weinstock was a producer on Clarissa, which screens in Directors\u2019 Fortnight, and Bucko was a producer on James Gray\u2019s Paper Tiger<\/em>. Both films have been acquired by Neon.\u00a0They\u2019ve told us the company is backed by a \u201cnetwork of family offices and private investors,\u201d enabling the company to fund development and finance production independently across film and TV projects. <\/p>\n \n\tWeinstock is an industry vet. He founded Invention Studios and previously served as creative head of Red Hour Films in partnership with Ben Stiller, and was Executive Vice President of Chernin Entertainment. His credits include the acclaimed Apple TV+ series, Severance, Dinner in America, Thelma<\/em>, and Escape at Dannemora<\/em>.
