On Monday, May 14, the anniversary of the Fly Me to the Moon singer\u2019s death<\/a>, the 85-year-old singer took to X<\/a> with a heartfelt tribute to her father. She began, \u201cTwenty-eight years ago, the world lost Frank Sinatra, and I lost my dad. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever fully get over the loss of him, or the fact that my siblings and I were disregarded and not given a chance to say goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n After his other daughter, Tina, shared Frank’s haunting three-word deathbed apology<\/a>, Nancy described her dad as \u201cone of the most extraordinary men I ever had the privilege to know\u201d and what memories have come up on the \u201csad\u201d occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI find myself thinking about all he accomplished, the joy he brought to so many people, and the love he gave to those closest to him,\u201d she said. \u201cThe world could certainly use his warmth, kindness, grace, and wonderful sense of humor today.\u201d<\/p>\n Nancy shared that her biggest regret is that Frank didn\u2019t get a chance to meet his great-grandchildren. She mentioned, \u201cOh! How they would have loved each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Although his death anniversary has brought her somberness, she is happy her father\u2019s memory lives on. She wrote, \u201cTwenty-eight years later, the world still sings along with him. Young people continue discovering him for the first time, while those who loved him from the beginning still treasure the man and his music.<\/p>\n \u201cHe left behind a body of work that continues to bring people comfort, joy, romance, and strength.\u201d<\/p>\n
