Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly not on the guest list for a major royal wedding next month. The wedding between Peter Phillips<\/a> and Harriet Sperling<\/a> will be taking place on June 6 in the Cotswolds<\/a>, at All Saints Church in Kemble<\/a>, Cirencester. The couple announced their engagement on August 1, 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A source close to the couple said the wedding is being planned as a small, intimate ceremony attended only by close friends and immediate family, taking place in a location that holds special meaning for them both. While it is not particularly surprising that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/a> and Sarah Ferguson<\/a> are not expected to attend, Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s absence is likely to draw more attention, given the once close ties between the two cousins.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Peter Phillips was among the guests at Harry\u2019s wedding to Meghan Markle<\/a>, while Harry also attended the wedding of Peter\u2019s sister, Zara Tindall to Mike Tindall<\/a> in 2011.<\/p>\n

As the eldest grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, Peter was previously seen as a supportive older cousin who helped the princes after their mother’s death. Following the death of their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997, Peter and his sister Zara Tindall were among the family members who travelled to Balmoral to be with their cousins during the period of mourning.<\/p>\n

At the funeral of Prince Philip in April 2021, the world famously saw Peter walking between the two brothers during the funeral procession.<\/p>\n

A friend of the couple told HELLO!<\/a>: “Peter and Harriet’s wedding is an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It\u2019s an area where they grew up and is very special to them both.<\/p>\n

“When and whether Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson had been invited, it was probably not deemed appropriate to invite them. It\u2019s Peter and Harriet\u2019s special day, and clearly their attendance would cause a distraction to the whole day.”<\/p>\n

When asked if Prince Harry would be attending, the friend answered: “Peter and Harry haven\u2019t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn\u2019t been invited.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While the complete guest list has not been made public, those expected to attend are understood to include Peter Phillips\u2019s immediate family. He is also understood to maintain close ties with the household of Prince William<\/a> and Catherine, Princess of Wales, while members of the Edinburgh branch of the family are also likely to attend, HELLO! reports.<\/p>\n

An announcement from Buckingham Palace confirming the wedding date reads: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date.<\/p>\n

“The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester on Saturday 6th June 2026 in a private ceremony. Both families have been informed jointly of the wedding date by invitation.<\/p>\n

“Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have also been informed of the announcement. Further details will be announced in due course.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
