\u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>\u201d will make its way to theaters this July, with Oscar winner Lupita Nyong\u2019o starring as Helen of Troy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The film features a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Conservative political commentator Matt Walsh took issue with Nyong\u2019o\u2019s casting<\/a> in a few posts on X.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe\u2019re told that we shouldn\u2019t object to Helen of Troy being portrayed as a black woman,\u201d Walsh posted on Wednesday. \u201cAnd yet if a major Hollywood studio made a film set in Africa and cast a white woman as \u2018the most beautiful woman in Africa,\u2019 those same people would literally riot in the street. If, say, Sydney Sweeney was cast in the role, they\u2019d be driven to murderous violence. We all know this is the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Elon Musk, who quickly agreed with Walsh\u2019s similar posts from Tuesday, chimed in again: \u201cAbsolutely true. Such hypocrisy in Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Musk has weighed in on \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d casting choices since at least January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He called Elliot Page\u2019s potential casting as Achilles one of \u201cthe dumbest and most twisted things I\u2019ve heard.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Musk also tweeted<\/a> that \u201cChris Nolan has lost his integrity\u201d in late January when it was first rumored that Nyong\u2019o would star in the film.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n A rep for Universal Entertainment, which is releasing the film, declined to comment to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> on Musk\u2019s comments about the film. Nyong\u2019o also didn\u2019t respond for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
