The Daily Mail<\/a>‘s Diary Editor Richard Eden claimed the timing of the article, in the week of the King’s speech and Catherine, the Princess of Wales’ first foreign trip since announcing her remission from cancer, was intentional.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the newspaper’s Palace Confidential podcast, he acknowledged that the Prince was addressing a serious and important topic, but said it was “classic” of the King’s youngest son to pick this moment.<\/p>\n

“I have to say, the timing is extraordinary,’ the royal watcher argued. “What have we got this week? The King’s Speech, a huge event, and Catherine’s first foreign trip for almost four years, and here he is, writing an article.<\/p>\n

“It has obviously been planned,” he claimed. “It’s for a Left-wing magazine and it’s controversial. It’s clearly designed to get headlines.”<\/p>\n

He added that he noticed the Times was running a prominent story about Harry and the article, but no picture of Catherine.<\/p>\n

The Prince and his wife Meghan Markle<\/a>, the Duchess of Sussex, stepped down as senior royals in 2020. They have since relocated to the US where they are raising their two children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
