\u201cWeekend Update<\/a>\u201d brought back its<\/a> joke<\/a> swap<\/a> tradition<\/a> on Saturday and, while Colin Jost<\/a>\u2019s wife Scarlett Johansson wasn\u2019t a punchline this<\/a> time<\/a> around<\/a>, the host nearly got his hair shaved off on live TV.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The wild moment was teed up by Jost, who was reading jokes penned by his co-host Michael Che<\/a>, advising viewers to try and \u201cseparate the art from the artist\u201d as he discussed a new album by Ye (formerly Kanye West).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cRemember, Ye can make awful music and still be right about Hitler,\u201d cracked Jost in a quip that\u2019s in line with the dark and edgy tone of past joke swap segments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He went on to apologize for the joke that was \u201coffensive to everybody\u201d by making an offer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI\u2019d like to sacrifice the most important thing in my life: my beautiful, award-winning, world-famous hair,\u201d said Jost, who caused the audience to erupt in laughter as he appeared to break while delivering Che\u2019s lines from the teleprompter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThat\u2019s right, I\u2019m shaving it off. Send in the barber.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n A man dressed as a barber soon walked onstage and placed a cape around him, leading the crowd \u2014 and Che \u2014 to lose it for several seconds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As the barber pulled out a hair clipper and began to hover it over Jost\u2019s head, the comedian quipped, \u201cJerome, make me unpretty.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cNo! No! No!\u201d interjected Che as he grabbed Jost by the shoulder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cYou were really gonna do it?\u201d said Che as Jost buried his head in the \u201cWeekend Update\u201d desk. \u201cMan, you are the greatest comedian of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Jost, relieved, laughed off the near makeover, \u201cGod damn it, I was so scared.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Watch more of \u201cWeekend Update<\/a>\u201d in the clips below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
