Michael Bubl\u00e9 is the latest star to go country after the likes of Beyonc\u00e9 and Post Malone<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old crooner’s last studio album was 2022’s Higher, but fans can expect an entirely different record after he fell in love with country music and the community.<\/p>\n
He told Billboard at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday night (17.05.26): \u201cWe\u2019re making a record. It\u2019s my love letter to country music.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I was on The Voice, Reba [McEntire] would sit next to me and she\u2019d look at my phone, and Kelsea [Ballerini], and my whole playlist was Hank Williams and Willie [Nelson].<\/p>\n
“Literally, it was Reba. She was like, \u2018Really?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Yeah, this is jazz.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI never thought it, but when I played the Opry for the first time, I realised that this community – we sort of share a lot of the same values – and I had to be a bigger part of it.”<\/p>\n
\nAsked what fans can expect, he added: \u201cIt\u2019s a love letter to the history of country music, to the writers, to the singers.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cFor me, there was so much in common when I looked at people I love like Nat King Cole and Frank [Sinatra], Dean [Martin].<\/p>\n
\n“Literally, it\u2019s not that different. Wonderful storytellers, incredible musicianship, and again, a community of people who love music and lift each other up.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Bubl\u00e9 recently quipped that his summer run of outdoor UK and Ireland shows could spark a full\u2011blown baby boom.<\/p>\n
\nThe Home singer teased that the population in each city he visits may \u201cdouble\u201d after his performances as the magic of an outdoor concert practically does the matchmaking for him.<\/p>\n
\nHe joked to BBC Radio Ulster: \u201cI like to call them Bubl\u00e9\u2011bies.”<\/p>\n
\nBubl\u00e9 continued: \u201cIt\u2019s so romantic \u2026 you\u2019re under the stars, swaying, having a couple of glasses of wine – it\u2019s an aphrodisiac.”<\/p>\n
\nHe said life on the road looks very different these days, admitting he only signs up for a handful of shows now that he\u2019s a hands\u2011on dad.<\/p>\n
\nBut this summer, his brood is packing their bags and tagging along, turning the tour into a family adventure.<\/p>\n
\nHe joked that they\u2019re already buzzing about \u201cseeing Papi\u201d and treating the trip like a mini\u2011holiday.<\/p>\n
