When it comes to the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, it was Ella Langley\u2019s world. We\u2019re just living in it.<\/p>\n
The country music star broke down when receiving the ACM Female Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday I was having a strange day,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t know what it is about awards shows, but I have strange days.<\/p>\n
\u201cI walked right in Lainey (Wilson\u2018s) room and she hugged me and she started praying for me. And then all of the sudden here comes Miranda Lambert in her little pink hat. I would not be standing up here without the encouragement of so many women.\u201d<\/p>\n
Langley also stressed the important role women have played in her life and career.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you to the women,\u201d she said. \u201cI would not be standing up here without the women. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her first honor of the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday was for the coveted song of the year, given to Langley for the crossover hit \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d presented to her by Michael Bubl\u00e9.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not at a loss for words very often,\u201d said Langley in her speech. \u201cThank you to the fans. I don\u2019t know why you latched on to this song but thank you for doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Less than an hour later she was back on stage, winning single of the year for the same smash.<\/p>\n
She also joined Riley Green shortly thereafter, as their duet \u201cDon\u2019t Mind if I Do\u201d took home music event of the year.<\/p>\n
And then she received her fourth on-stage trophy of the night for female artist of the year. \u201cI\u2019m trying to get to say something but I can\u2019t,\u201d she said while her voice cracked. \u201cI would not be standing up here without the encouragement of so many women.\u201d<\/p>\n
