Tom Kane, the voice actor renowned for his roles in Star Wars and The Powerpuff Girls, has sadly died at the age of 64.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kane brought Yoda to life in both the Star Wars: The Clone Wars<\/a> feature film and television series. He also provided the voices for Professor Utonium and HIM in The Powerpuff Girls, alongside numerous other vocal performances throughout his distinguished career. The Hollywood<\/a> actor additionally voiced characters in widely popular video games, including the Call of Duty franchise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kane’s representative, Zach McGinnis, confirmed the news of his passing on Monday, May 18. The statement did not disclose additional information, including the location of his death or the cause. Kane’s death comes after actress Ann Robinson’s death was announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

McGinnis shared with TMZ<\/a>, “Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever. But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children – three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kane’s death came nearly two months following a reunion with his Powerpuff Girls co-stars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In late March, at the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention, he appeared alongside Tara Strong (Bubbles), E.G. Daily (Buttercup) and Cathy Cavadini (Blossom), the trio of actresses who originally voiced the Powerpuff Girls. It marked a rare gathering of all four performers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“An amazing reunion with the OG #powerpuffgirls and the professor! @tarastrong @catherinecavadini @tkanevo @lex_con #buttercup #bubbles #blossom #tommypickles,” Daily posted on Instagram on March 28, sharing a photograph with her co-stars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kane also uploaded a picture from the gathering, captioning it, “Reunited with my girls!!” Strong responded to the image, expressing, “We were SO happy…so emotional to be back with our professor. It’s been way too long beautiful friend.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Strong elaborated, “Our hearts are filled with joy to be back together with you and to hear your beautiful voice slowly coming back brought tears to our eyes. @tkanevo you are an angel on earth, always have been.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Back in December 2020, Kane’s daughter revealed he had been missing from public events and social media due to “a left-sided stroke that gave him right-sided weakness and damage to the speech center of his brain.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She had further explained, “My dad still remains in good spirits and his extreme stubbornness has helped him already show improvements in speech. He is fully on board with me sharing this and he will see anything you guys post.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prior to his death, Kane had started making more frequent public appearances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kane’s final Instagram post came on Star Wars Day, May 4, or May the Fourth Be With You (a pun on the phrase “May the force be with you” from Star Wars). The post featured a throwback video of Kane appearing at a baseball game, wearing a baseball jersey that included the word “Jedi.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He captioned the post with, “Throwback to a very fun day and a shoutout to a dear friend @acouto39 May the force be with you! #may4thbewithyou.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Followers flooded the comments section with messages of sympathy following Kane’s death.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One user commented, “Rest in Peace, Tom.” Another wrote, “rip one of the greatest childhood legends.” A third simply stated, “Rest in peace.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
