Arthur Gourounlian is set to join husband Brian Dowling<\/a> as a host on the Six O’Clock Show this summer.<\/p>\nThe couple will be teaming up to co-present the Virgin Media<\/a> chat show a number of times over the coming months.<\/p>\nBrian’s former co-host Katja Mia<\/a> stepped away from the show last month as she moved to 2FM and her permanent replacement is yet to be announced, but Arthur will be stepping to do some shows.<\/p>\nThe couple remained tight-lipped about the details but revealed they know when it will be.<\/p>\n
“I love live TV, especially with dancing. I thrive on it. So I’m looking forward to it,” said Dancing With The Stars judge Arthur.<\/p>\n
“We’ve done so many things together but we never hosted a TV show together so you never know what could happen.”<\/p>\n
Since Katja’s departure, Darren Kennedy has often been stepping in to co-host with Brian.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Irish Sun, Brian joked: “I think I’m working on one of the gayest shows on television!”<\/p>\n
“”It is the gayest show on television so cheers to that,” Darren added. “It’s representation and I wish that when I was a 14-year-old boy turning on my TV that I saw two gay men just being themselves.”<\/p>\n
It comes as Brian said shooting his upcoming documentary on trolling has been an emotional experience.<\/p>\n
The TV presenter and husband Arthur have been faced with cruel online abuse from homophobic trolls since becoming parents to daughters Blake and Blu.<\/p>\n
In a bid to clamp down on trolls and make the wider public aware of how horrific online abuse can be, Brian is making a documentary with Virgin Media called Toxic Threads, which will examine trolls and the real-life impacts of their comments.<\/p>\n
Being in the public eye, Brian understands not everyone will like him – but he draws a line on certain comments made on social media.<\/p>\n
He told Magazine+<\/p>\n
: “It’s been quite emotional, actually, shooting it.<\/p>\n
“I suppose I’ve come to terms with the fact that people will want to comment, which sounds silly, on my weight, on my appearance, on how I look, how I talk, on certain aspects of my life.<\/p>\n
“I feel: ‘Okay, I’m willing to understand that.’ It sounds horrendous, but that’s going to happen purely on the job that I do.”<\/p>\n
