Blue October<\/strong><\/a> fans are getting Foiled<\/em> again. The Texas alt-rock band has been building up to a 20th anniversary vinyl reissue of their 2006 album Foiled<\/em>, as well as a fall tour commemorating the record. Now, with the May 29 release date rapidly approaching, they\u2019re sharing the second of three new music videos for Foiled<\/em> tracks.<\/p>\n Upon announcing the Foiled<\/em> reissue in March, Blue October released a brand new video for \u201cCongratulations,\u201d featuring vocals from Imogen Heap. The band is following that up by premiering a video for \u201c18th Floor Balcony\u201d this Tuesday, May 19 at 5 p.m. PT<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n In a video interview previewing the \u201c18th Floor Balcony\u201d video, Blue October\u2019s Justin Furstenfeld identifies the ballad as one of the best-known songs on Foiled<\/em>. \u201cI wrote it in like 10 minutes,\u201d Furstenfeld remembers, flashing back to the night his ex-wife Lisa Pepin inspired the song. \u201cIt was such an amazing, powerful evening,\u201d he says. \u201cGoing all the way up to room 1852 and opening the door and seeing her standing there in a silk blouse, I was just dumbfounded.\u201d<\/p>\n Furstenfeld was struggling with addiction, depression, and bipolar disorder during the Foiled<\/em> album cycle, as referenced on hits like \u201cHate Me\u201d and \u201cInto The Ocean.\u201d In the interview clip, Furstenfeld, who has been sober since 2012, expresses gratitude about the opportunity to revisit these songs with a fresh perspective. \u201cI like that I\u2019m in a very good spot now to be creative about the song,\u201d he says, referring to his role in crafting the video\u2019s narrative. \u201cI like the storylines,\u201d he says. \u201cI like acting. So I get to act in it. Got to wear a tuxedo.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
