Spotify [4,780 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/spotify\/\">Spotify<\/a><\/strong> listeners, with approximately <strong>80%<\/strong> of listeners located outside of <strong>Japan<\/strong>, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>XG<\/strong>\u2018s first full album also ranked within the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Billboard [1,644 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/billboard\/\">Billboard<\/a> 200.<\/p>\n<p>Digital music distribution revenue increased <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>12.5% YoY<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>to approximately <strong>$103 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<figure class=\"mbw-articlepic mbw-articlepic--center\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2026\/05\/Screenshot-2026-05-19-at-19.27.57.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\/><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2026\/05\/Screenshot-2026-05-19-at-19.27.57.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\/><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/files\/2026\/05\/Screenshot-2026-05-19-at-19.27.57.jpg\" data-lightbox=\"image-set\" data-title=\"\"><i class=\"fas fa-search-plus magnifying-glass-icon\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<hr\/>\n<p>The results, announced on Friday (May <strong>15<\/strong>), also showed the parent company, Tokyo-listed <strong>Avex Inc.<\/strong>, posted total revenues of approximately <strong>$971 million<\/strong>, an increase of<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> <strong>11.3%<\/strong> <strong>YoY<\/strong><\/span> and what the company says is its highest revenue haul since the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Group operating profit improved to approximately <strong>$27 million<\/strong> from a loss of approximately <strong>$12 million<\/strong> in the prior fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katsumi Kuroiwa<\/strong>, CEO of\u00a0<strong>Avex Inc<\/strong>, said: \u201cOur FY2025 results reflect meaningful progress as we continue transforming Avex into a more globally integrated entertainment and intellectual property company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are seeing strong momentum across recorded music, publishing, live entertainment, anime, and international rights management while continuing to strengthen the long-term earnings profile of the company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur strategy remains focused on building world-class artists, creators, and intellectual property with a long-term global perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe are seeing strong momentum across recorded music, publishing, live entertainment, anime, and international rights management while continuing to strengthen the long-term earnings profile of the company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Katsumi Kuroiwa<\/strong>, avex inc.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>ONE OR EIGHT<\/strong> continued its international breakout during the fiscal year as <em>TOKYO DRIFT<\/em> surpassed <strong>280 million<\/strong> <strong>TikTok<\/strong> views and charted across <strong>36<\/strong> countries and regions, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p>The group signed a global major label agreement with <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Atlantic Records [805 articles]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/companies\/access-industries\/warner-music-group\/atlantic-records\/\">Atlantic<\/a> Music Group<\/strong> during FY2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avex<\/strong> also announced the debut of <strong>VIBY<\/strong>, a five-member Japanese boy group developed through the \u201cRii.MJ Project\u201d led by executive producer <strong>KIM MI JEONG<\/strong>, who the company says is \u201crecognized for discovering members of <strong>BTS<\/strong> and <strong>Tomorrow X Together<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s publishing division and creators contributed to releases including the Grammy Award-winning <em>Folded<\/em> by <strong>Kehlani<\/strong> (co-written by <strong>Kamal Wilson<\/strong>), <em>Nokia<\/em> by <strong>Drake<\/strong> (<strong>Elkan<\/strong>), and multiple releases from <strong>Tate McRae<\/strong> including <em>Sports Car<\/em>, <em>Tit for Tat<\/em>, and <em>Revolving Door<\/em> (<strong>Grant Boutin<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>The company says its publishing division and creators received <strong>five<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt;
