Rudy Giuliani<\/a> spent his first evening out with his family after he was hospitalized earlier this month for viral pneumonia at the Italian marketplace Eataly in West Palm Beach, Fla.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know how hard I\u2019ve been trying to get people to go back there since you and I went there?\u201d Giuliani said on a Monday, May 18, episode of his online talk show, America\u2019s Mayor Live!<\/em><\/a>, addressing someone off camera.<\/p>\n \u201cSome of these people in Palm Beach are a little\u2026\u201d the former New York City mayor added, turning his nose up with his finger. He defended his choice of restaurant by describing it as \u201ca very high-level chain,\u201d noting it has locations across the globe, including in Italy.<\/p>\n Giuliani, who will turn 82 this month, said he convinced his family to dine at the establishment \u201cafter some persuasion,\u201d and that the experience \u201cwas great for my morale.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe food was great,\u201d he said. \u201cWe had too much, and we had to bring it home. We just had a wonderful time.\u201d<\/p>\n Giuliani, President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s former personal attorney who has since been disbarred<\/a>, was hospitalized in Florida earlier this month after contracting pneumonia while returning from a recent trip to Paris.<\/p>\n His spokesperson, Ted Goodman, announced Giuliani\u2019s illness and hospitalization on May 3, writing on social media<\/a> that the former Republican presidential candidate was in \u201ccritical but stable condition.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he\u2019s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,\u201d Goodman wrote. He later said that Giuliani\u2019s condition was linked to the 9\/11 terrorist attacks in New York City, which had left Giuliani with lasting health problems.<\/p>\n Dr. Maria Ryan, Giuliani\u2019s primary care provider, told Fox News<\/a> one day after he was hospitalized that a priest had been called to Giuliani\u2019s bedside<\/a> to read him his last rites. The same day, on an episode of America\u2019s Mayor Live!<\/em>, Giuliani said he had had a \u201csignificant spiritual experience\u201d<\/a> while in the hospital.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think I was unconscious, but I was in a state of like, you know, out of it. I would equate it to a dream,\u201d he said, describing a vision in which he was standing in a line of other people. \u201cI can\u2019t say I was headed for heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n
