Since stepping back from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been residing across the Atlantic in their Montecito estate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
With ongoing disputes surrounding Prince Harry’s<\/a> U.S. visa following the disclosure of his past drug use in his 2023 memoir Spare, many royal watchers have been wondering whether the couple would head back to England<\/a> if the duke had his right to remain in America revoked. However, the prospect of a return to the U.K. has been firmly dismissed by many, with Meghan, 44, having made her position abundantly clear years ago that she has no desire to return to her husband’s home country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In the book Endgame, released last year, author Omid Scobie revealed that the Duchess of Sussex “never felt at home” in the U.K. and “never wants to set foot again in England.” However, fate had other plans in store for Markle, who was forced to spend some time in the country as she made her way home from Geneva<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Speaking to the Express U.S., a spokesperson for Markle revealed that she had been visiting the Lost Screen Memorial in Geneva, a memorial dedicated to children who have lost their lives due to social media. Markle revealed her presence in the country when she posted an Instagram story of a card given to her by the crew of a British Airways flight.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “Dearest Harry and Meghan,” the card read. “Wishing you a wonderful wedding anniversary, Love, the whole British Airways family.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Markle captioned the post, “Thanks to this amazing flight crew for all the love yesterday. The duchess has not visited the country alongside Harry since 2022, when the couple attended the funeral of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, reports the Express<\/a>. Since that time, Harry has made numerous trips to the U.K., though always without his wife.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n These visits include his attendance at the King’s Coronation last year, his trip to see his father following the King’s cancer diagnosis, and the WellChild Awards ceremony just last month. The duke, 41, also made the journey to the U.K. alone this past summer for a Spencer family funeral, staying at the childhood home of his late mother, Princess Diana, with his uncle, Earl Charles Spencer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The notion that Meghan may never set foot in the U.K. again has been floated by several royal commentators. Charles Rae, former Royal Correspondent for The Sun, told GB News: “In terms of Meghan, I’m of the school that does not believe that Meghan will ever return to this country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “She’s had plenty of ways that she could return with the Duke of Sussex, and she’s decided that she doesn’t want to,” Rae added. “She’s made one stopover in this country at an airport when Harry was here; he picked her up at the airport, and they flew off for some sort of royal visit.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
