Mandy Moore shared her take on the drama swirling around her celebrity mommy group, months after fellow child actor Ashley Tisdale shaded the bunch in scathing essay last winter. <\/p>\n
The \u201cThis Is Us\u201d star and mother of three, during a recent appearance<\/a> on Andy Cohen\u2019s Sirius XM show \u201cRadio Andy,\u201d said she found the former \u201cSuite Life of Zack & Cody\u201d star\u2019s article \u201cvery upsetting\u201d and that it shocked both herself and fellow mommy group member Hilary Duff. \u201cWe have both grown up in this business and had people dissect who we are and the choices we make and all of that,\u201d Moore, 42, told the Bravo host, \u201cbut this was something altogether different and decidedly way more upsetting … because it just cuts to the core.\u201d<\/p>\n In December, New York magazine published \u201cHigh School Musical\u201d star Tisdale French\u2019s essay for its \u201cIt\u2019s Been a Year\u201d<\/a> series. The actor\u2019s piece, titled \u201cBreaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,\u201d<\/a> accused other group members of snubbing Tisdale French from various gatherings and group chats. \u201c\u2018This is too high school for me and I don\u2019t want to take part in it anymore,\u2019\u201d Tisdale French, who shares two children with composer Christopher French, recalled texting the group. <\/p>\n As Tisdale French\u2019s essay sparked speculation online about the identity of the group members, Duff\u2019s husband Matthew Koma appeared to confirm his wife\u2019s membership in a since-expired Instagram story post throwing the shade right back at Tisdale French. <\/p>\n For Moore, married to musician Taylor Goldsmith, kindness is \u201cthe most important thing\u201d in her life, as is creating a legacy of kindness, she told Cohen. She said that she finds \u201canyone even insinuating that might not be the case\u201d to be \u201cvery upsetting.\u201d Moore said she is a \u201chuge proponent\u201d of addressing conflict head-on via face-to-face communication. <\/p>\n \u201c\u2018I wouldn\u2019t have handled the situation this way,\u2019\u201d she recalled feeling about the essay. Moore did not mention Tisdale French by name. <\/p>\n Moore said she also felt the scandalous essay \u201cperpetuates this silly trope that women can\u2019t be supportive of one another\u201d and that women, specifically mothers, are \u201cinherently petty\u201d and committed to \u201cone-up each other.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cI have not felt that one iota since becoming a parent,\u201d Moore said, adding she has formed \u201cmeaningful relationships\u201d with other parents. She further stressed the importance of parents finding their community wherever they can. <\/p>\n
