Meanwhile, the Gig Trails in Midtown Newcastle and the Sydney precincts of Chippendale and Newtown, as well as the debut in Port Kembla, drew an estimated 5,500 visitors across venues and precincts.<\/p>\n<p>Some of Australia\u2019s most loved musical names appeared on the Great Southern Nights line-up, including <strong>Paul Kelly<\/strong>, <strong>Missy Higgins<\/strong>, <strong>Peking Duk<\/strong>, <strong>Thelma Plum<\/strong>, <strong>Lime Cordiale<\/strong>,<strong> Meg Mac<\/strong>, <strong>Genesis Owusu<\/strong>, <strong>WILSN <\/strong>and many others. This year\u2019s bill was home to 634 artists \u2013 a 43% increase on last year\u2019s line-up \u2013 with 2,000 individual performers on stage and approximately 1,000 music industry crew making everything happen smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>The artists performed on stages in Sydney, Western Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, the South Coast, the Northern Rivers, and the Central West regions, transforming the venues and streets into entertainment precincts.<\/p>\n<div id=\"\" class=\"newsletter-signup \">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p>Don&#8217;t miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>With so much happening across the state, Great Southern Nights was a leading driver of increased demand for accommodation, restaurants, bars, and cafes across NSW.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the success of this year\u2019s Great Southern Nights, the state\u2019s Minister for Jobs and Tourism, <strong>Steve Kamper<\/strong>, said the initiative is a \u201cshining example\u201d of the government\u2019s mission to bring entertainment precincts back to life across New South Wales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat Southern Nights is a shining example of how we\u2019re bringing entertainment precincts back to life,\u201d Kamper said. \u201cThis year\u2019s event delivered unforgettable live music experiences for local and visiting music fans right across our communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvents like Great Southern Nights energise the nightlife of our cities and regions, providing vital support to local businesses and jobs.
