Fans have had the same reaction to a seagull defecating on King Charles<\/a> at a royal engagement this afternoon. A passing seagull left the king with an unwelcome gift in front of crowds in Newcastle, County Down, in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 77-year-old monarch was leaving a food bank project when the bird mess fell from the sky, leaving a noticeable white smear on the back of his suit. But despite the less-than-convenient event, the King<\/a> laughed it off. Smiling and waving to the crowds, he refused to put on an overcoat after a royal aide informed him of the mess on the back of his jacket.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Instead, he carried on with greeting the cheering crowds, who had been waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of the King.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When one member of the public politely asked him whether he knew he had a bird dropping on his jacket, the King laughed and said: \u201cNo, it\u2019s fine. At least it didn’t land on my head!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On X, fans agree on one thing: the bird poo is a sign of good luck for the King.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Irene Marting, 64, from the village of Dromara near Lisburn, was waiting in the crowds with her sister Paula Leitch to see the King and witnessed the incident unfold from across the street.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She shared a joke with the King about the moment, she said: \u201cWe were talking to the King about the seagull, and he said, \u2018It\u2019s well it didn\u2019t land on my head\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSomebody was trying to get him to put a coat on, but he didn\u2019t, being hit by a seagull, it\u2019s supposed to be good luck.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so thrilled he\u2019s come to Northern Ireland to see us, and it\u2019s really nice to see him in Newcastle.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
