\n\tApple<\/a> executive Eddy Cue has been named Entertainment Person of the Year by Cannes Lions<\/a>, the annual advertising and technology event that has become a must attend for media and entertainment companies each summer.<\/p>\n \n\tCue, senior vp of services and health for Apple, is the executive who oversees Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple\u2019s film and TV studios. He will deliver a keynote June 22 alongside producer Jerry Bruckheimer, before accepting the award.<\/p>\n \n\tApple has long been a presence at Cannes Lions, which congregates much of the advertising industry along with major companies in tech and media in the South of France. Last year the company was named Cannes Lions\u2019 Creative Marketer of the Year.<\/p>\n \n\tCue has been Apple\u2019s biggest proponent in the media and entertainment space, giving the TV team the freedom to pursue deals, while also securing deals like the Formula 1 rights agreement that began earlier this year.<\/p>\n \n\tCue told THR in March<\/a> that the first F1 race of the season was a win for the tech giant: \u201cThe 2026 Formula 1 season on\u00a0Apple TV<\/a>\u00a0is off to a strong start, with fans responding positively and viewership up year over year for the first weekend, exceeding both F1 and Apple expectations,\u201d Cue said.<\/p>\n \n\tThat said, Apple remains coy around specific numbers as it related to viewership and Apple TV subscribers.<\/p>\n \n\tEddy Cue has consistently pushed the boundaries of entertainment and storytelling, building platforms and experiences that have redefined how audiences engage with culture,\u201d Cannes Lions chief Simon Cook said in a statement. \u201cUnder his leadership, Apple has not only produced world-class content but has also shaped the future of entertainment through innovation, creativity and an unwavering commitment to quality.
