Sheryl Crow<\/a> <\/b>recalled fighting breast cancer while watching her former fianc\u00e9 Lance Armstrong<\/b><\/a> move on after their breakup.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was engaged, I had three beautiful stepchildren, I wanted to have kids with this person. We split in the same week \u2026 I got diagnosed with breast cancer,\u201d Crow, 64, recalled on the Tuesday, May 19, episode of Bobby Bones<\/b>\u2019 \u201cThe Bobbycast\u201d podcast on Netflix<\/span><\/a>. \u201c[Then] I found out he was seeing a really famous actress.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI really felt like I went through about nine months of radiation and grieving and anger.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crow and Armstrong, 54, were together from 2003 to 2006, when they broke off their five-month engagement over the singer\u2019s desires to have children<\/span><\/a>. (Armstrong shares son Luke, 26, and twin daughters Isabelle and Grace, 24, with ex-wife Kristin Richard<\/b>, later welcoming two children with current wife Anna Hansen <\/b>ahead of their 2022 wedding.<\/span><\/a>)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany celebrities have spoken out about their personal battles with breast cancer over the years. Julia Louis-Dreyfus went public with her breast cancer diagnosis in September 2017 via Instagram. Nearly one year later, she had successfully beaten the illness and returned to work on Veep. \u201cIt sounds kind of corny, but there\u2019s something about after [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For Crow, it wasn\u2019t until she spoke with her physician that she was able to move forward from the breakup.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a really stoic oncologist who literally looked like my grandmother. One of the things that she said to me was like, \u2018I\u2019ve had a thousand women come through with breast cancer. Don\u2019t miss out on the lesson,\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cI realized, having gone through all that, that I am a caretaker. I\u2019m the last person I take care of. I take care of everybody\u2019s emotions [and] I make sure everybody is good with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crow added, \u201cIt took my life screeching to a halt to get to a place to go, \u2018OK, who am I and why am I doing what I\u2019m doing? Do I love what I\u2019m doing? What am I supposed to be doing? Do I want to be a mom?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
