On Douban, the Chinese culture forum, the film was rated 9.1 out of 10, putting it in the same league as <em data-qa=\"ContentSchemaRender-defaultRenderMapFunctions-Component\" class=\"css-1mniedq ex3nmsa15\">Titanic<\/em>, <em data-qa=\"ContentSchemaRender-defaultRenderMapFunctions-Component\" class=\"css-1mniedq ex3nmsa15\">Spirited Away<\/em> and <em data-qa=\"ContentSchemaRender-defaultRenderMapFunctions-Component\" class=\"css-1mniedq ex3nmsa15\">The Shawshank Redemption<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Wanting to witness the magic myself, I went to the cinema over the weekend. There was a full house, though it was close to lunchtime. The film started light as minor characters made jokes and acted foolish, but soon waves of emotion kicked in. Her debt-ridden grandson travels to Thailand to find his rumoured billionaire grandfather, Zheng Musheng, who in his early years went there to make a living but never returned.
