Paul Rudd<\/strong> is showering praises on his co-star Nick Jonas. The duo is looking forward to the release of their musical comedy drama, Power Ballad. At the premiere of the film on Tuesday, Rudd spoke highly of Jonas.<\/p>\n In his interview with PEOPLE<\/a>, Paul Rudd praised Nick Jonas\u2019s performance in Power Ballad. \u201cI can\u2019t say that I was surprised because I\u2019ve seen him act,\u201d Rudd said. However, the actor shared that Jonas \u201cdid things that were kind of so subtle and really deft, the stuff that was going on behind his eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ant-Man star continued, \u201cHe\u2019d be going through these dilemmas, and he\u2019s not saying anything, but you can read his mind.\u201d He further added, \u201cIt\u2019s such good acting, and I was just amazed at some of the stuff he was doing.\u201d The 57-year-old explained how the singer handled a few scenes really well. \u201cWhen I saw the movie, it was like, \u2018Oh my God.\u2019 There were scenes that I wasn\u2019t there to film, and yeah, he knocked me out,\u201d Rudd stated.<\/p>\n He concluded, \u201cOh, I need to remember this.\u2019 And he\u2019s just cool. Like he just plays everything cool because he is cool.\u201d Director John Carney also acknowledged Jonas\u2019s skills in the film. \u201cNick Jonas has an inner working that\u2019s going on all the time. He\u2019s inscrutable,\u201d he told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. Carney continued, \u201cHe brings a certain kind of mysterious, enigmatic reality and truth to the character that we really needed.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier, Carney was warned about casting Jonas, but he realized he made the right choice when everyone reached the set. \u201cNick played this character really small. He didn\u2019t come in going, \u2018Hey, I\u2019m the boy band guy!\u2019,\u201d the director said. He continued, \u201cHe wants to go and play golf and have a nice whiskey and talk about the part and go to bed early and call his daughter and his wife.
