Check out the series here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n When we caught up<\/a> with young \u014ctepoti Dunedin band Vagina Dry last year, they had high hopes for 2026.<\/p>\n \u201cTo perform in the UK, but realistically it should be to actually release our album and do some physical releases too,\u201d lead vocalist El told us. \u201cWrite new music and keep having fun while uplifting voices that need to be heard.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n As was revealed today, they\u2019ve already achieved one of those goals.<\/p>\n Alongside Sivle Talk, Sogg, and U-NO JUNO, three other excellent bands from our Dunedin Scene Report series, Vagina Dry will drop 4EPS<\/em><\/a> in July, a special release which follows the example of Flying Nun\u2019s legendary Dunedin Double<\/em> EP (1982).<\/p>\n Just like that legendary release, 4EPS<\/em> is essentially four individual releases packaged together, with each band given one side each. There\u2019s Sivle Talk\u2019s CRYBABY<\/em>, Freezer Thaw<\/em> by Sogg, U-NO JUNO\u2019s you know<\/em>, and a self-titled EP by Vagina Dry.<\/p>\n The first taste of 4EPS<\/em> is the brutal, searing \u201cBrutalised\u201d, Vagina Dry\u2019s latest slice of explosive Riot grrrl energy.<\/p>\n Get your daily dose of everything happening in Australian\/New Zealand music and globally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The young trio \u2014 El is joined by bassist Reef and drummer Caleb in the lineup \u2014 produced the single with help from Tane Cotton, aka Sivle Talk<\/a>, at the latter\u2019s WarPossum Studios (Hamish Waddell handled mixing duties).<\/p>\nLove Music?<\/h2>\n
