The wide release follows a two-week period of \u201cunder the cover\u201d distribution, during which the record was available exclusively as a physical format stocked in select independent record shops.<\/p>\n<p>To mark the album\u2019s arrival on digital shop windows, the Wirral-based group has shared a video for the new single, <strong>\u201cLet The Music Play.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe data-testid=\"embed-iframe\" style=\"border-radius:12px\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/5cKhYiSB2VK4HQQ0xDGivn?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe recording is an ode to the sound of cassette tapes by The Wailers and Lee Scratch Perry that we used to buy in second hand shops, Poundland and car boot sales,\u201d Songwriter and vocalist James Skelly says. \u201cThe song itself is us trying to make sense of the world but arriving at the fact that only music will ever make sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The release of <em>388<\/em> follows the commercial success of 2023\u2019s <em>Sea Of Mirrors<\/em>, which reached the Top Five of the UK Official Albums Chart. Since their 2002 Mercury Prize-nominated debut, the band has secured six Top Five albums, including <em>Magic and Medicine<\/em> (2003) and <em>The Invisible Invasion<\/em> (2005). In 2025, their signature single \u201cDreaming of You\u201d was certified platinum.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thecoral.os.fan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Coral will also be supporting the new record with an extensive run of festival appearances and support slots beginning next month.
