Season 24 of American Idol<\/a><\/em> is over, but the careers of the contestants are just beginning. It\u2019s been proven in the past that you don\u2019t have to win the show<\/a> to have a successful career (just ask Jennifer Hudson<\/a>), and several of this year\u2019s Top 20 artists are already building on the momentum of Idol<\/em> with new song releases.<\/p>\n

After the finale, the Top 3 (Hannah Harper<\/a>, Jordan McCullough<\/a>, and Keyla Richardson<\/a>) dropped streamable versions of the songs they performed in the finale<\/a>. While Jordan and Keyla sang covers during the May 11 episode, winner Hannah sang her fan-favorite original<\/a> \u201cString Cheese,\u201d as well as a brand new one called \u201cMarried Into This Town<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other Top 20 contestants who put out original music around the time of the finale were Lucas Leon (\u201cThe Crazy Kind<\/a>\u201c), Jake Thistle (\u201cHiding in the Vacancy<\/a>\u201c), Genevieve Heyward (\u201cDon\u2019t Mind If I Do<\/a>\u201c), Kutter Bradley (\u201cFake a Smile<\/a>\u201c), and Juli\u00e1n Kalel (\u201cHeartstrings<\/a>\u201c). These five artists were sent home in earlier Live Shows, but wasted no time getting some new music going.<\/p>\n

There will likely be much more to come from these singers, as well as the other artists who made the Top 20. Hannah and Jordan both recently told TV Insider<\/a> that they are planning on working on new music this summer.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hannah also has a ton of tour dates<\/a> coming up, beginning with her Grand Ole Opry debut on June 2. After that, she\u2019ll be on the road all summer and most of fall, with the \u201cString Cheese\u201d tour not wrapping up until November.<\/p>\n
