Bruce Springsteen delivered a blistering message aimed at Donald Trump<\/a> on Wednesday during the penultimate episode of \u201cThe Late Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Before performing his anti-Trump song \u201cStreets of Minneapolis<\/a>,\u201d Springsteen voiced support for outgoing host Stephen Colbert and slammed both the president and CBS owners<\/a> Larry and David Ellison.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI am here in support tonight for Stephen, because you are the first guy in America who\u2019s lost his show because we got a president who can\u2019t take a joke and because Larry and David Ellison feel they need to kiss his ass to get what they want,\u201d said the musician, a fierce critic of Trump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The cancellation of Trump critic Colbert\u2019s show \u2014 announced last July \u2014 was widely interpreted by critics as an attempt to smooth the way for the Ellison family\u2019s bid to merge Paramount Global with Skydance, which later did indeed secure Trump administration approval.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Turning back to Colbert, Springsteen added: \u201cAnyway, Stephen, these are small-minded people. They got no idea what the freedoms of this beautiful country are supposed to be about. This is for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He then launched into \u201cStreets of Minneapolis,\u201d which he released in January<\/a> in protest of the Trump administration\u2019s immigration crackdown in Minnesota following the fatal shootings of Ren\u00e9e Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
