<\/div>\n<\/header>\n A 15-year-old slice of modern British history is making headlines as a piece of fruit cake from Prince William and Kate Middleton\u2019s 2011 royal wedding is going up for sale.<\/p>\n This is not the first time a slice from this cake has hit the market. In 2014, as reported by TIME<\/em><\/a>, the slices were auctioned, and one piece fetched around $7,500 at Julien’s Auctions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Article continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The piece of fruit cake measuring three inches by two inches is preserved in paper and has been kept in its commemorative tin titled ‘William and Catherine, April 29, 2011.’<\/p>\n The slice was saved by Juli Kavanagh, who is a friend of the Duchess of Cambridge. Other wedding day mementos and two charming cards from the princess were also saved, as per The Independent<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The mementos are being auctioned at Forum Auctions<\/em> located in London.
