The Coral have surprise released a new album.<\/p>\n
After secretly putting out the physical records\u00a0two weeks ago at independent record shops, ‘388’ is now available in all the usual places digitally and high street stockists.<\/p>\n
The follow-up to 2023\u2019s Sea Of Mirrors, which reached the top five of the UK Official Albums Chart, was recorded at\u00a0Kempston Street Studio in Liverpool. The Merseyside band\u00a0recorded\u00a0in the mornings, doing two or three takes per song at most, before\u00a0breaking for Chinese takeaway.<\/p>\n
Alongside sharing\u00a0the record with\u00a0the world, they’ve released\u00a0a video for the single\u00a0Let The Music Play. Singer and songwriter\u00a0James Skelly introduced the song:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n \u201cThe recording is an ode to the sound of cassette tapes by The Wailers and Lee Scratch Perry that we used to buy in second hand shops, Poundland and car boot sales. The song itself is us trying to make sense of the world but arriving at the fact that only music will ever make sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Coral will play a number of UK festivals and concert series this summer, including the\u00a0Southampton Summer Sessions<\/a>\u00a0and Live At The Piece Hall<\/a> supporting\u00a0Amy MacDonald, Tramlines<\/a> in Sheffield and Kendal Calling<\/a>.<\/p>\n
